Spanish betting and gaming operator Cirsa has expanded its land-based presence in Peru with the acquisition of four casinos.

Through its Peruvian subsidiary, Cirsa has acquired three casinos in Lima – Casino New York, Casino Luxor, and Casino Pachanga – and Casino Mystic in Cuzco.

The transaction strengthens the company’s leadership in the Peruvian market, where the group began operating in 1996 and made a significant leap last year with the acquisition of Apuesta Total, the country’s leading sports betting and online gaming brand.

The acquisition of the four new casinos will be financed with available cash and is not expected to have a significant impact on Cirsa’s leverage.

At the end of September, Cirsa operated 19 casinos in Peru with 2,602 slot machines and 36 table games.

Shares in Cirsa Enterprises SAU (BME:CIRSA) were trading 0.28 per cent higher at €14.39 per share in Madrid Friday morning.
