Former Virginia Lottery executive director takes over as Allwyn North America CEO next month
Lottery-led gaming operator Allwyn has appointed Khalid Reede Jones as chief executive officer of Allwyn North America.
Jones brings over two decades of experience and senior executive roles spanning lottery, gaming enforcement, licensing and private investment.
Most recently, he served as executive director of the Virginia Lottery for the past two years.
He will join the Allwyn team in Chicago on July 6, focussing on the future growth of Allwyn North America as the operating partner of the Illinois Lottery and as a technology and games provider to North American lottery customers.
He will also work to expand Allwyn’s footprint across the lottery sector in the United States. The role does not extend to Allwyn’s majority-owned fantasy sports operator PrizePicks.
Jones succeeds Wayne Pickup, who stepped down last November to join Australia’s The Lottery Corporation.
“I’m pleased to share that Khalid Reede Jones will be joining us as CEO of Allwyn North America,” said Allwyn CEO Robert Chvátal. “Khalid brings a rare mix of regulatory insight, commercial experience and a genuine commitment to responsible growth. A digitally minded leader who understands the power of partnerships and innovation – I know his perspective and energy will be hugely valuable to our North American business.”
Shares in Allwyn AG (ATH:ALWN) were trading 2.36 per cent higher at €13.25 per share in Athens Wednesday morning.
