Bally’s CFO has resigned with immediate effect citing personal reasons

Bally’s Corporation chief financial officer Mira Mircheva has left the company with immediate effect after one and a half years in the role.

Bally’s said that Mircheva resigned for personal reasons and would remain available to the company through to the end of September to ensure an orderly transition.

Her role will be assumed on an interim basis by George Papanier, Bally’s former president and chief executive and current president of the company’s land-based casino business.

Earlier in his career, Papanier served as CFO of Sun International Hotels in the Bahamas and Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. He also served as interim CFO of Bally’s in 2023.

“On behalf of the entire Board and executive management team, I want to thank Mira for her dedication to Bally’s and we wish her great success going forward,” said Bally’s chief executive Robeson Reeves. “Having spent more than two decades in key operating and financial leadership roles at Bally’s, George has been instrumental in developing our business model, asset portfolio, and growth strategy.

“He steps into the interim role supported by an experienced finance organization and I am confident that our reporting, controls and capital markets work will continue without disruption.”

Bally’s board of directors has commenced the search for a permanent CFO.

Shares in Bally’s Corporation (NYSE:BALY) gained 3.64 per cent to close at $10.24 per share in New York Thursday.
