The Engine platform will create a new distribution model for online casino content

Stake is extending the reach of its Stake Engine platform to operators across the betting and gaming industry.

Stake Engine was initially established to develop exclusive games for Stake, but will now be opened up to the wider iGaming industry.

Rebranded as Engine, the new model gives operators the infrastructure to build their own creator-led gaming ecosystems, enabling studios, developers, streamers, affiliates and other creators to build and distribute games at scale via a single integration.

Engine brings together more than 1,000 game publishers and providers, with more than 250 new titles being developed every week.

“Engine has already proved that a creator-led community can create some truly fantastic, quality games, at scale,” said Stake co-founder Ed Craven. “But what initially started as a way of removing the barriers to entry to game development has now grown into a content development Engine with enormous potential. Our evolution into Engine marks a new chapter in that growth journey.

“We’re building on that solid foundation that we’ve created and taking the Engine model beyond Stake. We want creators to be able to build new and exciting games, and broaden that reach to audiences across the industry. And for operators, this means access to a wealth of new and exciting original content and tools that they can use to build creator ecosystems of their own.

“With 1,000 creators on board, and hundreds of games being added to the pipeline every week, we believe that this will fundamentally change how casino content is created and distributed going forward.”

Hayden Bruin, head of operations at Engine, commented: “The goal has always been to make building and launching games dramatically easier for developers. Engine brings the entire process together in one place – from development and testing through to approval, deployment, distribution and monetisation.

“We’ve already shown that a developer can go from an idea to a live game in as little as 24 hours. Now, by opening Engine to operators, that same game can have the potential to reach audiences far beyond a single platform.

“That changes the opportunity for creators significantly. Developers can spend more time building great games and less time dealing with fragmented technology, integrations and operational complexity, while operators gain access to a much broader and faster-moving source of original content.”

According to Stake, games built on Engine have generated more than $23 billion in turnover to date, from over 9.7 billion bets placed.
