Settlement relates to AML and social responsibility failings, delayed withdrawals and unfair terms

Online gambling operator L&L Europe has agreed to pay £0.9 million to the Gambling Commission of Great Britain for failing to abide by the conditions of its licence.

The financial settlement announced this morning relates to L&L’s online gambling operations in Britain between October 2024 and October 2025, during which time the company failed to comply with numerous requirements of the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP).

An investigation by the Gambling Commission found that during thar time, L&L did not have fair and transparent terms and conditions; unreasonably delayed customer withdrawals; failed to have an adequate anti-money laundering policy; and failed to abide by rules governing social responsibility and technical standards.

The Commission found that the failings put consumers at heightened risk and cited the example of one customer who had 84 failed deposit attempts due to insufficient funds but was not identified as exhibiting signs of gambling harm.

In another instance, a customer under the age of 25 was allowed to lose £6,500 within three days of opening an account, while an 18-year-old was allowed to lose £4,000 in eight minutes, both without triggering any intervention.

“As a regulator we expect consumers to be treated fairly,” said Sue Young, executive director of operations at the Gambling Commission. “A basic expectation is that when you have winnings you can withdraw those swiftly without hinderance from unfair terms and conditions or the operator failing to carry out checks at an earlier stage. That is essential to consumer trust.

“There may be occasions where a gambling business can ask consumers for information at withdrawal to fulfil legal obligations, but this was not the case here.

Young added: “We hope this case sends a clear reminder to the industry that, although much of our enforcement action frequently relates to anti-money laundering and social responsibility failings, we will not hesitate to act when we see incidents of gambling not being fair and open.”

L&L Europe is licensed to operate seven domains in Great Britain: allbritishcasino.com, casinocasino.com, hypercasino.com, pubcasino.co.uk, quickbet.co.uk, funcasino.com, and yeticasino.com.
