iGaming operator claims more than 20 per cent of Ontario online casino market in Q3 2026
Betty Canada has reported record net revenue of CA$111 million for the third quarter of 2026, benefiting from the first contributions from its launch in Alberta.
The private company said in a trading update that operations in Alberta generated nearly $10 million in net revenue since going live on July 13, while net revenue from Ontario grew by 12 per cent, adding $11 million compared to the previous quarter.
Quarterly net revenue increased by 11 per cent compared to the previous quarter, with a record number of active players, up 71 per cent year-on-year.
Betty now claims to have more than a 20 per cent share of the Ontario online casino market.
The company said that more than 214,000 players placed a cash bet on Betty.ca in September, an increase of 28 per cent compared to June.
In Ontario, Betty reduced Q3 advertising spend by 12 per cent quarter-on-quarter to $15 million, while growth in organic acquisition more than offset lower paid volumes, increasing total new depositors by 6 per cent to 56,702. Customer acquisition cost was $313, a fall of almost $40 compared to Q2 2026.
Net revenue per active player (NRPAP) hit $193 and $195 in July and August, both yearly highs. September dipped to $183, but this was the highest NRPAP for a non 31 day month. Monthly active players in Ontario grew from a Q2 peak of 167,000 to 182,000 in September.
During Q3, Betty recorded 42,831 new depositors from Alberta, including more than 10,000 sign-ups from its pre-launch campaigns. NRPAP increased from $126 in August, its first full month of operation, to $149 in September.
The quick ramp up of active players, peaking at 31,600 in September, generated $4.7 million in net revenue during the month. This was up from net revenue of $3.4 million in August, and $1.7 million in July.
“Drawing on our established Ontario playbook, we launched with Betty’s loyalty program, daily gamification features, and a solid promotional calendar, providing a strong foundation for early player engagement,” said the company. “In Q4, we will introduce Alberta players to Betty’s full range of market-leading LiveOps gamification features, including Prize Wall, Game Challenge and Collections, enabling more sophisticated engagement journeys designed to strengthen long-term retention and player value.”
The operator noted that Alberta accounted for 12 per cent of its overall revenue in September, with this figure expected to rise to 27 per cent by December 2027.
“Early signals suggest Alberta will deliver on its promise to become our main growth engine over the coming 14 months,” said the operator. “The strong initial results demonstrate the team’s ability to operate across multiple jurisdictions and show that Ontario’s success can be repeated.
“The strategic decision to set up a dedicated team has paid off so far: Alberta is built on our core product, but on a day-to-day basis it is run almost as an independent business. This structure allows us to pursue the new market with full focus, without diverting attention from Ontario.”
The third quarter also marked a major milestone with the introduction of Betty Originals. The company’s remote gaming server (RGS) and first original slot, Vault Wreckers, launched in Ontario on August 31 and in Alberta on September 17.
The company said that Vault Wreckers attracted 50,841 active players in its first seven days, averaging 307 rounds per player and generating 15.6 million rounds in total, the highest opening 7 day round count among Betty’s 2026 new game releases in Ontario. It also ranked first for total wagers and second for active players and gross gaming revenue.
Betty Bingo also delivered its strongest quarter since launch, with net gaming revenue (NGR) rising 78 per cent quarter-on-quarter to $911,000, with each month of the quarter setting a new record.
Together with Mini Slots, which can be played without leaving a bingo game, the vertical generated $1.3 million in NGR in the quarter and $581,000 in September, an annualized run rate of nearly $7 million.
In September, 71,000 players played bingo, 39 per cent of Betty’s monthly active players in Ontario.
