Lower casino and electronic gaming weigh on PAGCOR in the first nine months of 2026

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has reported a 23.4 per cent fall in total revenue for the first nine months of 2026 to Php64.41 billion (approx. US$1.01 billion).

The company attributed the decline to the weaker performance of the Electronic Gaming sector, where revenue declined by 37.2 per cent to Php27.63 billion.

The licensed casino segment also recorded a decline but of 3.2 per cent to Php23.10 billion.

PAGCOR’s Casino Filipino branches saw revenue fall by 8 per cent in 9M 2026 to Php7.28 billion, while revenue from poker operations fell by 4.6 per cent to Php105.86 million.

Overall gaming revenue from gaming operations was 23.4 per cent lower year-on-year at Php58.13 billion.

Revenue from other related services declined by 38.6 per cent to Php3.04 billion and other income was almost flat at Php3.23 billion.

Total expenses in the nine-month period increased by 3 per cent to Php19.86 billion, pushing pre-tax profit down 31 per cent to Php44.55 billion. Net income for the period was 85 per cent lower year-on-year at Php2.17 billion (approx. US$34 million).

The drop in net income is partly attributable to an October 2025 Supreme Court ruling which required PAGCOR to pay 5 per cent of its gross revenue to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), nearly double the previous remittance level.

“While we recognize the impact of lower gaming revenues on our financial performance, PAGCOR remains committed to carrying out its mandate,” said chairman and chief executive Alejandro Tengco. “We will continue to pursue responsible and sustainable operations while ensuring that the gaming industry adheres to regulatory standards.”

PAGCOR remitted Php45.28 billion in contributions to nation-building and other statutory obligations during the first nine months of the year, including Php27.61 billion to the National Treasury.
