The Supreme Court ruling overturning the federal ban on US sports betting regulation will spark a flurry of activity from suppliers and operators looking to carve out a position in the market.

Sports betting suppliers are likely to be the busiest, with Scientific Games already looking to position itself as the go-to supplier for US operators looking to move into the vertical.

The New York-listed supplier is likely to find itself competing against a range of suppliers, namely SBTech, which has established a partnership with casino content supplier GAN and is looking to seal more partnerships in the coming months.

SBTech chief executive Richard Carter described the Supreme Court ruling as "historic" for the gambling industry.

"[We] look forward to working closely with all stakeholders and helping shape an open and responsible environment for sports betting to flourish in the US, which addresses the needs of consumers, law enforcement, regulators, sports integrity, operators and technology providers," he said.
