The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has reported a 3 per cent drop in total racing turnover to HK$121.6bn (€13.8bn) for the 2019/20 season, its third highest performance in a season, despite the impact of COVID-19.
Turnover on Hong Kong racing by Hong Kong customers fell by 8 per cent due to the closure and reduced opening times of the club’s off-course betting branches, with fans unable to attend the racecourse for almost half the season.
