Greek monopoly operator Opap has rolled out the first virtual sports products across its extensive retail network.

The company has launched Pame Stoixima Virtual Football across nearly 500 venues in Greece in partnership with Inspired Gaming, following a pilot run in 91 locations.

The new game will be available from 9:02 am to 11:59 pm each day, featuring matches every 5 minutes with commentary from Greek sportscaster Christos Sotirakopoulos.

Opap intends to launch additional virtual sports games in Greece through Inspired, which is also supplying the operator with online versions of the games.

With Inspired’s virtual games being integrated into the largest part of Opap’s national network, the company expects the product to add significant value to its business, as well as to its national network of agents.

The virtual sports launch is part of Opap’s ongoing investment in its technology and portfolio of gaming and lottery products. For more on this investment and an exclusive interview with CEO Damian Cope, see the forthcoming issue of GIQ Magazine.
