Sydney-listed gaming supplier Aristocrat Leisure is set to launch a new slot game based on HBO's hit TV show Westworld.

Developed in partnership with Warner Brothers Consumer Products, the new game will debut this week at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.

The show is set in a Wild West-themed park staffed by robots, who begin to develop free will and turn on the human visitors and park staff. It is based on the 1973 film of the same name, directed by Jurassic Park creator Michael Crichton.

It has proved to be a huge hit with viewers, becoming HBO's most-watched original production and garnering a record 22 Emmy nominations. A second series is due to air in 2018.

The slot variant will transport players through the series, featuring fan-favourite characters, the show's distinctive soundtrack, and some of the first series' most memorable scenes.

It will launch on Aristocrat's new flame55 cabinet, which features double-curved 55-inch monitors, high quality audio and a virtual button deck.

"We are thrilled to present our customers with the excitement of the Westworld Slot Game," Aristocrat senior vice president of North American marketing and gaming operations Siobhan Lane said.

"At Aristocrat, our absolute number one priority with every game we create is to help our customers provide their players with an entertaining experience. We aggressively pursue the very best and most influential licenses to achieve that mission, and Westworld is a very exciting addition."
