NetEnt's initial roll-out of live dealer casino games was not quite the smash hit it had originally hoped for. Through a partnership with Mr Green, it now believes it can offer a totally new experience in the vertical with Live Beyond Live.

NetEnt first entered the live dealer space in 2013, launching a solution with the bold aim of taking the fight to market leader Evolution Gaming. Five years later, chief executive Per Eriksson admits that his company was over-ambitious.

Part of the problem was the use of blue-screen technology, which was hailed at the time as the best means of allowing one dealer to service multiple operators. Rather than having to maintain a range of brand-specific tables, a number of clients could have their branding superimposed onto the background of a single table.

"The feedback we got was that the experience was a little bit flat," Eriksson says of the blue-screen approach.

Considering blue-screen is similar to the special effects solutions used by Hollywood movies, NetEnt was guilty of not using the technology to its full potential. This has now been remedied with a little help from client Mr Green, and some inspiration from Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle.
