Casino games developers NetEnt and Yggdrasil have secured agreements to provide their respective portfolio of slot games with Finland’s state-owned gaming operator Veikkaus.

Veikkaus will launch Yggdrasil’s slots on its Veikkaus.fi site, home to more than 700,000 weekly players, including latest releases Penguin City, Hanzo’s Dojo and Wolf Hunters.

The operator will also gain access to Yggdrasil’s BOOST proprietary range of in-game promotional tools, which allow operators to instantly run promotions from within the game client.

“We are thrilled to join forces with such a professional and established business as Veikkaus and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship,” said Yggdrasil CEO Fredrik Elmqvist.

Veikkaus vice president of casino games Jan Hagelberg commented: “We are happy to join with the Yggdrasil team to bring its unique and innovative games to our loyal players. Yggdrasil casino content is proven to perform well across regulated markets and we are confident our players will enjoy them on a regular basis.”

NetEnt said that it expects to launch games with Veikkaus during the first half of next year following completion of technical integrations, with the four-year agreement set to be worth between €5m and €9m in revenue to the supplier.

“We are very proud to enter this collaboration with Finland’s largest gaming operator Veikkaus,” said Henrik Fagerlund, managing director of NetEnt Malta and chief product officer of NetEnt. “The deal is an important milestone for our presence on the Finnish market and I am convinced that our thrilling games will be much appreciated by Veikkaus’ players.”

Veikkaus’ Hagelberg added: “We are delighted to partner with NetEnt, known for its iconic games and innovative gaming solutions.

“NetEnt's games have been proven to perform well and are constantly asked by our loyal customers. We are excited to be able to offer them soon in our online casino.”

Shares in NetEnt AB (STO:NET_B) were trading up 1.16 per cent to SEK36.21 per share in Stockholm Monday morning.
