Casino games developer Yggdrasil has paid out a record €7.8m jackpot to a Swedish player on LeoVegas.

The lucky player won SEK80m (€7.8m) on Yggdrasil’s flagship progressive jackpot slot game Joker Millions following a SEK5 bet via LeoVegas’ mobile platform. It is the largest jackpot payout to date for the Joker Millions game.

“We are thrilled to see a player win such a life-changing sum of money, especially this close to Christmas and while playing one of our slots games on mobile,” said Yggdrasil CEO Fredrik Elmqvist. “Joker Millions is our first progressive slot and it is beloved by both operators and players. With more operators continuing to join the Yggdrasil network, the jackpot will be building up again quickly.”

Joker Millions is one of Yggdrasil’s two progressive jackpot games and was launched in 2015. The supplier has now awarded a total of €26.7m to players through its progressive jackpot slots.

“What a record win. Progressives like this always create excitement,” said LeoVegas head of casino James Ford. “We’ve been keeping a close eye on this one in anticipation that it would drop. We’re really happy it was triggered at LeoVegas and pass a huge congratulations on to our lucky player.”
