London-listed gaming supplier Playtech has paid out a €1.7m jackpot to a Ladbrokes player through its Jackpot Giant slot game.

Jackpot Giant has been one of Playtech’s most popular titles across online and retail since launching in 2014, with the game’s ultimate prize awarded when a player lands five Wild symbols along payline one.

The seven-figure jackpot was won on a €4.50 spin and takes the amount paid by Playtech in jackpot prizes over the past year to €187.6m, with an average of 16,037 jackpots paid out each month.

“Jackpot Giant has become one of Playtech’s most iconic games and characters, so it’s fitting that he has awarded a truly giant, life-changing payout,” said Playtech director of casino James Frendo. “Ladbrokes is one of our longest-standing partners, and it’s fantastic to have helped make one of their players a millionaire.

“With a portfolio of 80 progressive jackpot games and nearly €188m paid out in jackpot prizes in just a year, Playtech offers an unrivalled proposition for licensees looking to offer their players exciting gameplay and incredible win potential.”

Ladbrokes commercial manager Adam Goodall commented: “Everyone at Ladbrokes is very excited to have created another millionaire on a single €4.50 spin. Jackpot Giant is a hugely popular game for us, with the truly giant progressive jackpot being won within a Ladbrokes site for the second time in a row. Many congratulations to our lucky player on their amazing win.”
