Rafi Ashkenazi, the chief executive of PokerStars parent Rational Group, has been named interim CEO of Amaya with immediate effect, with David Baazov taking an indefinite leave of absence from the company.
The company said that Baazov has taken the decision voluntarily in order to focus on preparing an offer to acquire the business, and to avoid becoming a distraction for Amaya while he responds to last week's allegations by Quebec’s Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).
