The Swiss people have voted by an overwhelming majority to amend the constitution to require that the net proceeds from lotteries and sports betting must be used entirely for charitable purposes.
The Swiss Romande Lottery welcomed the decision as an “historic vote”, with the European Lotteries (EL), the umbrella organisation representing the national bodies of 44 European countries, including all 27 EU Member States, also voicing its strong support.
