Following the landmark Gambelli and Placanica legal victories which helped transform the landscape of European gaming regulation, a further challenge to the Italian concessionary system of licensing by bookmaker Stanleybet has ended up once more at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, with the potential for more fundamental changes to how betting companies are licensed and allowed to operate both in Italy and in the rest of Europe.
