German court refers State Treaty questions to CJEU

Germany’s Supreme Court has today stayed proceedings in order to refer a number of questions regarding the second State Treaty on Gaming to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

The court said that as per European case law, a restriction on freedom to provide services is justifiable on public interest grounds, but that such restrictions must be proportionate and consistent.
