The horse racing levy amendment to the UK Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Bill has been approved by the House of Commons, extending the levy to offshore operators.
The extension means that all UK-facing online bookmakers licensed by the Gambling Commission will be required to contribute to the horse racing levy, which is currently paid by the UK’s four largest bookmakers, William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral and Betfred, with Betfair also contributing voluntarily.
