New York’s Gaming Facility Location Board has received eight applications in response to its Request for Application (RFA) for the three downstate New York casino licences.
The deadline for applications for the three commercial casino licences closed on 27 June, with the proposals covering potential venues in Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Yonkers.
All eight applicants have paid a $1 million application fee, with Community Advisory Committees (CACs) to be formed for each proposal.
Applicants must complete all entitlement processes, including land-use/zoning and environmental reviews, before September 30, and CACs must vote on their respective project by the same date.
Applicants approved by their CAC will then submit supplemental application material, including a proposed tax rate, to the Board for evaluation and consideration. Final decisions are due by 1 December.
