French online gaming regulator L’Autorité de Régulation des Jeux en Ligne (ARJEL) has proposed measures to ensure that gambling via internet-connected televisions is policed in a way which protects minors and helps prevent gambling addiction.

The regulator says that in light of television's accessibility “to all at all times”, it believes there are inadequate controls in place to regulate the growth of internet connected TV services, such as betting apps.
