Philippines-listed electronic gaming platform provider DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has confirmed plans to enter South Africa’s regulated gambling market.

Marking the latest phase in its international growth strategy ahead of its planned launch in Brazil in September, the company is preparing to apply for a National Manufacturer License, Bookmaker License, and Bookmaker Premises License from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB).

“We are thrilled to take this next bold step in our international journey,” said DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco. “South Africa is not just the largest online gaming market in Africa, it’s a gateway to the continent’s digital future.

“As we expand from Southeast Asia to Latin America and now Africa, we remain committed to responsible innovation, local compliance, and developing products that connect deeply with culture and community.”

Digiplus expects the licensing process to take at least six months, with the company planning to establish a local legal entity in South Africa, in line with licensing requirements that allow foreign ownership and directorship.

Digiplus currently operates a bingo platform (BingoPlus), a sportsbook (ArenaPlus), as well as casual and arcade games under the SpinPlus and GameZone brands in the Philippines.

Shares in DigiPlus Interactive Corp. (PSE: PLUS) soared by 18.89 per cent to close at ₱32.10 per share in Manila Monday.
