A new bill has been introduced which proposes to amend laws in the US state of Washington and classify fantasy sports contests as a game of skill rather than a form of gambling.
The bill (HB1301) argues that the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) specifically exempts fantasy sports from gambling regulations, pointing out that more than 40 states subscribe to this view and class fantasy sports contests as games of skill, rather than gambling.
