The five-year exclusive licence is currently held by ZEbetting & Gaming and expires in June
Pool betting operators will have the opportunity to apply for the exclusive licence to offer land-based horse race betting in the Netherlands in January.
The competitive selection process for the next totalizer licence, which gives the holder the exclusive right to offer pari-mutuel betting on horse racing at racetracks and retail premises, will open on 4 January and close on 31 January 2027.
The licence is currently held by ZEbetting & Gaming and expires on 30 June 2027, with the next licence running from that date until 30 June 2032.
The first phase of the selection process will see Dutch gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) assesses all applications against a set of requirements which include demonstrable experience in land-based betting, as well as policies to combat gambling harm and threats to sporting integrity.
If more than one applicant passes the first phase, the second phase will see a notary select the winner in an unweighted draw.
The none-refundable licence application fee is set at €40,900.
Further details are expected to be released by the Dutch gambling regulator in December.
