The national co-chair of Sheldon Adelson’s Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling has called on the US government to enforce a nationwide ban on iGaming as his home state of Colorado explores the possibility of legalising the activity. It coincides with the leaking of a draft federal bill this weekend which seeks to amend the Wire Act and prohibit online gaming across the US.

Wellington Webb, the former mayor of Denver and national co-chair of Adelson’s coalition, explained that while the state’s Attorney General John Suthers had issued an opinion in December saying that a constitutional amendment would be required to legalise online gaming, he expected a “strong push” to pass a gambling bill during the current legislative session.
