Despite being classified as illegal nearly three years ago, California's Supreme Court has finally decreed that the last remaining internet sweepstakes cafés in the state must now be closed.
The court ruled that the sweepstakes cafes offer games of chance which are similar to slot machines, closing all legal loopholes available to operators of internet sweepstakes cafés who have been fighting to stay in business following passage of Assembly Bill 1439, which officially banned the venues from providing such services.
