Match-fixing allegations hit eSports as players and coach arrested

Authorities in South Korea have arrested more than twelve individuals following allegations of match-fixing at a number of competitive eSports StarCraft 2 matches earlier this year.

Among the suspects indicted are the head coach and two professional gamers from eSports team Prime. Others arrested include brokers and two known criminals with links to organised crime.

According to the country’s prosecutor’s office, those involved allegedly accepted offers of between $5,000 and $7,500 to fix five competitive StarCraft 2 [...]
