The Office of Liquor, Gaming & Racing (OLGR) for the Australian state of New South Wales has warned bookmakers that wagering inducements remains illegal in the state as the regulator convicted and fined betting operator Ladbrokes for breaching advertising laws.
The Downing Centre Local Court found the operator guilty of three counts of illegal gambling advertising in the state, resulting in Ladbrokes being fined AUD$7,500 and ordered to pay legal costs totalling $18,000.
