A number of Estonian and Slovakian footballers have been hit with heavy sanctions by their country’s football associations for their involvement in the manipulation of football matches, with world football governing body FIFA extending the bans worldwide.

The Estonian Football Association has worked alongside the country’s national judicial authorities since the State Prosecutor Office opened fraud investigations against several players.

While it is continuing to gather information, the FA has decided to ban ten players from all football-related activities until March 1st 2015, and two other players until December 31st this year.
