The Swedish Sports Confederation Riksidrottsförbundet, together with the country’s Football Association and monopoly gaming operator Svenska Spel, have commissioned the Swedish Crime Prevention Council (BRA) to investigate the issue of match-fixing in order to identify how it is carried out and who the main participants are.

The study is intended to help develop a framework for crime prevention and enforcement actions to stamp out match-fixing, and follows a report on the subject by the country’s gambling regulator, the Lotteriinspektionen, in December last year.
