Badminton’s governing body the Badminton World Federation (BWF) has reported two allegations of match-fixing to law enforcement authorities after two players reported that they were asked to help corrupt the result of matches.

Media reports allege that a Malaysian man approached Danish players Hans Kristian Vittinghus and Kim Astrup Sorensen, asking them to fix their matches at the Japanese Open, held in June. As the Malaysian individual is not part of the badminton community, the BWF says, it is unable to investigate the matter any further, prompting its decision to involve the police.
