Opponents of Swiss gaming bill secure national referendum

The introduction of online gaming legislation in Switzerland faces further delays after opponents of the bill secured sufficient public support to call a national referendum on the law.

The petition demanding a referendum by the Jungen Grünen (Young Greens) political organisation has been submitted to the Federal Chancellery with more than 50,000 signatures, above the threshold required under Swiss law to subject an issue to a national referendum.
