The New York State Gaming Commission adopted rules Monday to regulate sports betting, paving the way for Rivers Casino & Resort, del Lago Resort & Casino, Resorts World, and Tioga Downs to secure licensure.
The commission voted 6-0 in favour of adopting the rules, which must now be published in the state register.
Sports betting licenses would run in parallel to casinos existing gaming licenses in terms of validity period, subject to review every five years.
