Tax issues hamper Denmark’s gaming liberalisation

Denmark’s Minister for Taxation, Troels Lund Poulsen, has said that the country’s new gambling legislation which was due to come into force on January 1st 2011 has been postponed.

The delay follows the filing of an objection with the European Commission by a land-based casino and slot operator which argues that the tax structure of the new legislation unfairly favours online operators.
