New York-listed Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has confirmed that its racecourse in Illinois will apply for a sports betting license in the state, but has declined to apply for a gaming license.
CDI said that its Arlington International Racecourse had not applied to the Illinois Gaming Board for a slot machine and table game license, due to the higher effective tax rate proposed under the recently enacted Illinois Gaming Act.
