London-listed gaming operator 888 has updated its online poker app to offer multi-table tournaments alongside sit n’go and cash games, which are now available across both Android and iOS devices.
The launch is the latest development of the company’s ‘Play Different’ strategy targeting casual poker players, which has helped the operator post strong results from the vertical in the past year or so, bucking the industry downturn.
888 poker vice president Inbal Lavi described the launch as “another great milestone” for the company’s poker offering.”
“We continually strive to give our players the most entertaining, easy poker experience and now they have full access to more games and prizes while they are on the go,” Lavi said.
The user interface has been revamped for a “smoother” user experience, and allows players to enter tournaments by collecting tournament tickets.
888 has launched an advertising campaign to promote the update, featuring a new television spot, and a series of free-roll tournaments, with a total prize pool of over $400,000 available.
Every day the company will also offer players free entry into a $50,000 giant free-roll tournament, alongside the chance to complete challenges to collect more tickets.
The app is available to Android users in all countries, and iOS users in twenty countries across Europe.
Shares in 888 Holdings plc (Co. Data) (LSE:888) have dropped 1.34 per cent to 155.20 pence per share in London this morning.
