The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned two adverts promoting Gaming Realms’ Spin Genie brand over concerns that they may appeal to minors.

One of the adverts was a TV ad produced for Gaming Realms subsidiary Bear Group, which operates Spin Genie, and included a voice-over of a poem and coins cascading down a hill. The ad showed a gold coin smashing into the ground in a desert oasis, before exploding into small casino icons.

The second ad was for the brand’s website and featured a cartoon dog called Spin with links titled ‘join,’ ‘play’ and ‘adventure.’ Accompanying text promoted games under the title ‘Spin’s picks’ including Pixies of the Forest, Fluffy Favourites, Transformers Battle for Cybertron and Pirate Princess.
