XTiP, the sports betting subsidiary of German gaming giant Gauselmann Group, is looking to boost its profile among football fans after agreeing sponsorship deals with three high-profile teams.

The operator has agreed what it describes as “versatile sponsorship packages” with Volkswagen-owned Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg, as well as 2.Bundesliga clubs DCS Arminia Bielefeld and the newly-promoted FC Heidenheim 1846.

It will also expand on existing partnerships, as the regional partner of MSV Duisburg of the 3.Liga and Rot-Weiss Essen of Regionaliga West.

“Football means lots of emotion, entertainment, excitement and above all joy,” XTiP marketing manager Dr Peter Reinhardt said. “There is hardly a sport with which sports betting better fits.”

The deal sees XTiP gain brand presence and other opportunities for promotion in each team’s home stadium, including advertising through the clubs’ media channels, and offering social media sweepstakes to boost fan engagement.

Additional elements which Reinhardt describes as “regional activation concepts” will also be rolled out. This includes allowing XTiP customer card holders to take advantage of product discounts and special offers in each team’s home city, with plans to expand this initiative throughout their partner clubs’ regions.
