Stockholm-listed gaming operator Betsson has been named as the official betting partner of the Champions Hockey League (CHL).
As an official sponsor of the league, Betsson will benefit from in-venue and online brand exposure and gain access to the league’s assets for the creation of exclusive content around games.
The sponsorship of the Champions Hockey League follows Betsson’s deal with the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) last week, which sees it serve as new main sponsor and exclusive betting partner.
“We want to support and develop Swedish hockey. The financial support to SHL, and thereby the 14 participating clubs, is the foundation of the partnership. We want to be the most engaged partner they’ve had so far - one who cares for Swedish hockey and its amazing history. We are very proud to be the main sponsor for Sweden’s platform for hockey,” explained Peter Zäll, chief strategy officer at Betsson.
“To see the Swedish and Finnish top teams facing competition from some of the other European teams is exciting and good for hockey,” Zäll said of the CHL sponsorship. “It is also exciting for us and further proof to a goal of being hockey’s top betting operator in Europe.”
Shares in Betsson AB (STO:BETS-B) were trading up 1.44 per cent at SEK71.34 per share in Stockholm early Monday morning.
