Swedish lottery and gaming operator Svenska Spel has signed up as an official partner of next month’s Ski Tour 2020 event.

The sponsorship agreement expands Svenska Spel’s commitment to Swedish skiing following last year’s sponsorship of the Swedish Ski Association.

Ski Tour 2020 is a new Scandinavian competition that begins next month and forms part of the FIS World Cup. The event sees several of the world’s top cross country skiers compete across six days of competition in five different arenas in Sweden and Norway.

“It feels very fun and we are hereby taking another step to strengthen our cooperation with Swedish cross-country skiing,” said Svenska Spel sponsoring manager Nicklas Biverståhl. “Thanks to the partnership with Ski Tour 2020, we are further strengthening the links with skiing and obviously getting good exposure for our brand.”

Ski Tour 2020 will focus on environmental sustainability issues and all competitors will be transported by train to the venues.

“Ski Tour 2020 has really taken sustainability issues to a new level, and this is something we value highly,” continued Biverståhl. “During the winter, together with the cross country team, we will be raising the sustainability issues in different channels, and therefore it feels extra fun to be a partner to a sporting event where sustainability is the focus.”
