UK-licensed operator Puntt has launched a new eSports betting site which enables customers to bet on individual players.

Launched in the UK on Thursday, Puntt.gg initially provides betting pools on all tournaments in the CS:GO major championships, with Dota2 and other major titles to follow later in the year.

The launch follows two years of development, with the site allowing customers to bet on CS:GO players for the first time, and not just teams, with new betting markets including most kills.

“Puntt has been built to fill a glaring gap in the eSports betting space,” said Puntt CEO Phill Adams. “Offering a fair and exciting betting product through which you back individual players as opposed to betting fixed odds on teams alone.

“After 18 months work to bring Puntt to market, and despite the current difficult circumstances, we’re incredibly excited that we will be launching in the UK during the ESL Pro League – Season 11. For Puntt, this is just the start, with more player betting markets and more esports to be introduced over the coming months.”

The operator has also created the Puntt Community Chest, where a percentage of its turnover each quarter is given to charities and gaming-related good causes.

“When we selected today as our launch date, we couldn’t have anticipated the extraordinary challenge the world would be facing,” said Adams. “So as Puntt’s chief executive, I’m proud we have nominated the World Health Organisation COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund as the beneficiary of the Puntt Community Chest for this first quarter.

“We hope our contribution can in some small way help the WHO in coordinating the global effort against COVID-19.”
