The Swedish government has appointed Johan Röhr as acting director general of the country’s gambling regulator, Spelinspektionen.
Röhr has worked at the gambling regulator for nearly 25 years and currently serves as chief legal officer.
He will take over as acting director general on 1 November to replace Camilla Rosenberg, who is leaving the gambling regulator to head up the Swedish Real Estate Agents’ Inspectorate (Fastighetsmäklarinspektionen).
“Johan Röhr has extensive experience in the business and will ensure continuity in management,” said Spelinspektionen chairman Claes Norgren. “The business will continue as planned and at an unabated pace while waiting for a new director general to be appointed.”
Rosenberg has served as director general of the gambling regulator since 2017.
“I would like to thank Camilla Rosenberg for her meritorious work at the Swedish Gambling Authority during a time of profound changes in the gambling market,” said Norgren. “I congratulate her on her new position.”
