Scientific Games has appointed Karin-Joyce Tjon from legal technology solutions provider Epiq Systems to serve as its new chief operating officer and president.

Tjon began her tenure on Monday(February 13th), assuming responsibility for Scientific Games' award-winning gaming and lottery operations, as well as the company's organisational structure, business development and fiscal discipline.

She joins from Epiq Systems, where she served as chief financial officer and executive vice-president, and will report directly to Scientific Games chief executive Kevin Sheehan.

"We have tremendous confidence in KJ's ability to lead our long-term growth strategy and execution, and continue the strong growth across all of our businesses," Sheehan commented.

"Her deep experience in international finance, performance accountability, and culture transformation will further enhance our ability to deliver for our customers, employees and our shareholders."

Shares in Scientific Games Corporation (Co.Data) (NSQ:SGMS) closed in New York Monday down 0.25 per cent at $20.10, having set a new 52-week high of $20.50 per share earlier in the day.
