Scientific Games' SG Digital division has named Nikos Konstakis as its new vice president of sportsbook product.

In his new role, Konstakis will be tasked with overseeing the development of SG Digital’s OpenBet product development roadmap, as well as enhancing the supplier’s sportsbook offering for its customers.

The move follows this week’s ruling by the US Supreme Court, which Scientific Games described as an "unprecedented opportunity" for the company.

“Appointing Nikos to the role of VP of sportsbook product is an important step in our strategy towards productisation and developing the next generation of the OpenBet portfolio,” said Keith O’Loughlin, senior vice president of sportsbook and platforms for SG Digital. “His knowledge of the sports betting industry is a valuable asset for us, and he is already playing a key role in our preparations for entry into the US regulated market with a significantly improved proposition.”

Konstakis has a wealth of experience in the betting and gaming sector, most recently serving as vice president of trading at OpenBet, having worked for 16 years at Athens-listed supplier Intralot, including group director of betting and group head of product and trading.

“I’m thrilled to have started my new role with SG Digital in an extremely exciting period for the company and our industry,” said Konstakis. “We have a strong customer base, and I look forward to working closely alongside our partners, delivering them value with our world-class OpenBet sportsbook, as well as introducing innovative product enhancements to take the platform to the next level.”
