Dutch gaming operator Janshen-Hahnraths Group has appointed Michiel Nubé as its new chief executive officer.
Nubé will replace long-serving CEO Jan Schiffelers, who confirmed in June that he would be stepping down after more than twenty years in the role.
Nubé takes over as CEO in January, and joins Janshen-Hahnraths from MediaMarkt Nederland, where he has been responsible for MediaMarkt’s flagship store in Eindhoven for nearly five years. Prior to that he worked at Holland Casino and JVH Gaming & Entertainment Group, operator of the Jack’s Casino brand in the Netherlands.
“We are extremely pleased with the arrival of Michiel Nubé,” said Janshen-Hahnraths Group supervisory board chairman Paulus Karskens. “Michiel is passionate about our industry and with his knowledge and experience from both the retail and gaming sectors, he is well suited to lead the further strategic development of the Janshen-Hahnraths Group.
“The supervisory board sees in him an inspired successor to Jan Schiffelers, who will retire on 1 January 2024 after a long record of service.”
Commenting on his appointment, Nubé said: “The Janshen-Hahnraths Group is known for its reliability, integrity and hospitality. These are also important core values for me. I thank the supervisory board and the Works Council for their trust, moreover I thank Jan Schiffelers for the warm handover. I look forward to contributing to the success together with all colleagues, in this time of change.”
Janshen-Hahnraths is best known for its network of more than 30 Fair Play Casinos in the Netherlands, and was among the first licensees to secure approval to launch in the regulated Dutch iGaming market in 2021.
