The Dutch Lottery has named Jet Roos-van Aerssen as chief financial and risk officer (CFRO) following the promotion of former chief financial officer (CFO) Arjan Blok to CEO.
This is Aerssen’s first role in the gambling industry after an extensive career in the energy and media sectors with the likes of Talpa Network, Aegon and General Electric.
Aerssen assumes the role from Blok, who took over as chief executive from long-serving chief Niels Onkenhout on 6 May 2024.
Blok has held the role of CFO since 2016 and was announced as Onkenhout’s successful in November 2023.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to welcome Jet Roos-van Aerssen to the Dutch Lottery. We have full confidence in a positive future. Together with Arjan Blok as CEO, the board of the Dutch Lottery will take the organization one step further in the coming years,” said Alexander Pechtold, chairman of the supervisory board at the Dutch Lottery.
“We naturally want to maintain the continuous positive results of recent years. This gives us the opportunity to continue investing in society and in our organisation.”
Aerssen said of her appointment: “The Dutch Lottery is at the heart of society and is strongly connected to sports and charities. I consider it an honour to join this organization with strong brands that bring joy to many people and sometimes make dreams possible.
“At the same time, the Dutch Lottery does everything it can to ensure that players participate responsibly in its games. It inspires me that almost the entire result goes to sports, charities and society. I am therefore looking forward to contributing to a happy, healthy and sporty Netherlands together with the colleagues and partners of the Dutch Lottery.”
