17th April 2020 7:32 am GMT

Sydney-listed lottery provider Jumbo Interactive has confirmed that David Barwick will step down as a director and non-executive chairman later this year.

Barwick has tendered his resignation due to the duration of his tenure, having served the company and its shareholders for almost 14 years. He was appointed as a director in August 2006 and subsequently as non-executive chairman in November 2007.

“David has played a key role in Jumbo’s success over the past 14 years by providing a guiding light through the early days of the Company’s development,” said Jumbo Interactive CEO and founder Mike Veverka. “On behalf of the rest of the board I thank David for his efforts and wish him well in future endeavours,”

Barwick will continue to serve as a director and non-executive chairman until a suitable replacement is found by the company’s 2020 Annual General Meeting, which is expected to take place in October.

Shares in Jumbo Interactive Limited (ASX:JIN) closed up marginally by 0.17 per cent at AUD$12.00 per share in Sydney earlier Friday.
