GVC’s partypoker returns to Italy after four year absence

3rd April 2020 9:37 am GMT

GVC Holdings’ leading poker brand partypoker has returned to Italy’s regulated iGaming for the first time in four years.

The operator has been granted licence approval from Italian gambling regulator Agenzia Dogane Monopoli (ADM) to offer real-money online poker games to players in Italy.

After an absence of four years, GVC said that the licence will allow some of partypoker’s global tournament titles to return to the Italian market.

“Despite recent changes that restrict marketing in Italy, the poker market there remains an exciting opportunity for partypoker,” said partypoker managing director Tom Waters.

“We will be looking to improve and expand on our product and offering over 2020 and bring a different option for the Italian poker market.”

Shares in GVC Holdings plc (LSE:GVC) gained 5.79 per cent to 476.06 pence per share in London earlier Friday.
