BetMakers’ Global Tote division has signed a new five-year deal for the provision of pari-mutuel wagering technologies and services at Hawthorne Race Course in Illinois.

The renewed and extended agreement will see Global Tote deliver its latest BetLine Series of wagering terminals to the Chicago-based racetrack and its off-track betting bars.

“The Chicago area is a big market for horse racing and the player experience, particularly at the track and in OTBs, is essential to serving loyal customers and attracting new fans,” said Hawthorne Race Course general manager John Walsh. “These are the places where everyone comes together to enjoy our sport, and Global Tote’s betting terminals make that experience better.”

Hawthorne will also continue to utilise Global Tote’s Quantum Tote Engine for central pari-mutuel wagering services.

“Global Tote is delighted to continue our long and productive partnership with Hawthorne Race Course, the longest running gaming company in Illinois history and a fourth generation family-owned business,” said Global Tote chief operating officer Raj Sanjanwala.

“Bettors in Illinois demand a seamless wagering experience and we are confident that Hawthorne’s players will appreciate the overall enhanced wagering experience of the BetLine terminals and the optimised uptime and performance of the new BetLine terminals when supported by the new OneWatch monitoring solution.”
